iTouchless EZ Faucet PRO Automatic Touch-Free Faucet Adaptor, New Model for Any Sink/Faucet

The World's only patented "faucet-mount" automatic faucet system that requires no plumbing modification. This saves installation time by 80% and cost of hiring a plumber. After mounting to any standard faucet, simply run your hands (or whatever you are washing, filling or getting wet) under the faucet and your water comes on automatically. It will then stay on until you move from under the sensor. You can also override the automatic feature by pressing the manual override button - this allows the water to run for 3 minutes until you press the manual override button again, sending it back to the automatic feature. The new PRO model is smallest and smartest that makes any faucet automatic. 4 AAA batteries can last up to 1 1/2 year. (Not included)

  • Hands-free operation

  • Prevents contamination of germs

  • Fits any existing sink faucet

  • No plumbing change, easy to install

  • Manual on/off switch for full control. Hot/cold and water flow can still be controlled by exiting faucet's handles

1great idea, but they just don't last long  Aug 24, 2006
By Traci L. Myers
I really wanted this to work. The alternative costs hundreds of dollars. I have a day care and sanitation is a high priority. I bought my first one and the sensor never worked, Amazon gladly replaced it and the new one worked for 2 weeks and then that sensor stopped working. My sister has one and had the same problem. her husband takes theres apart and fixes it everytime which I don't have the know how to do. Amazon took back the second one and refunded me, so it was worth the risk. Hopefully the company will fix the glitch and then I will try again.

4Works as advertised (until it doesn't work -- update)  Jul 28, 2006
By Cheese and crackers "Yum!"
October 9, 2006 (UPDATE). Unfortunately, my faucet stopped working. Although the sensor seems to work, with an audible clicking sound, water won't come out even with a fresh change of the batteries.

Rats. Especially since I had just recently bought another one for relatives as a gift.

It's still under the one year warranty. Nevertheless, its reliability issues could be a serous problem for certain contexts.

I hate to give it a bad rating (and I can't edit the stars rating on this review); I think the company is honest enough, and it's a noble mission -- and sometimes a thankless job -- to make our bathrooms and kitchens more sanitary, so I hope they'll continue to improve their manufacturing and choice of materials, yet keep the cost affordable.

(The following is the original glowing review I gave it July 27, 2006, a few months ago)

Regarding the vendor, I ordered it using Free Shipping and received it within a week. Very good service!

Regarding the product, positive points:

1) Other companies do produce motion sensing faucets to the tune of $400, which also requires the disposal of the old faucet. The EZ Faucet's price is affordable and let's you keep your old faucet.

2) Styling is nice and sleek, similar to the designs found on some Brita water-filter faucet adapters. (Much better than the blocky design of the original EZ Facuet.)

3) The item includes a wrench in the box for tightening the adapter to the facuet, but you can almost get by without it. Installation took about five minutes as advertised. The instruction booklet is well designed and easy to understand.

4) Sensor works very well when washing hands. By contrast, touchless faucets in public restrooms do NOT work as well and I usually have to find the sensor and wiggle my finger in front of it with one hand so that it will detect motion while rinsing the other hand. But the EZ Faucet lets you wash both hands, as you would expect.

5) It is hard to wash dishes and expect the sensor to keep the water flowing. That is why they have a button on the device that will allow the water to run continously (ignoring the sensor) for a couple of minutes, which is a vey good feature. Hit the same button again and the water shuts off.

6) Definitely saves water and is very hygenic.

Regarding the product, somewhat negative points (quibbling):

1) Strangely, the sensor does not pick up saucepans or bowls that I hold under it to fill with water. You really have to move around, or in my case, have one finger near the sensor while the other hand holds the saucepan, or hold your arm in a different position than normal. (Or just move the facuet head to the side).

2) My only concern: What is the safety of the inside of the device? In other words, as water passes through it, does it pick up any undesireables? I assume not, given all of the careful engineering that seems to have gone into the development of this product. But one of these days, I need to take the output water and have it tested. Or hopefully an objective publication such as Consumer Reports will study it. It would be great if the distributor could have it tested/certified as safe by some objective organization (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission?), and then the distributor could just slap the "seal of approval" on the packaging.

Otherwise, this device is great for the bathroom, and very good for the kitchen. (I have had it for a little over a week; if anything goes distasterously wrong within the coming years, I'll be sure to update my review.)

I wish all public bathrooms (whether in gas stations or eating establishments) would have a motion sensing faucet. Retrofitting those bathrooms is now possible, and affordable, with this device.

2Shoddy buggy battery eater  Mar 06, 2008
By J. M. Saltzman
This worked great when I got it-- it does save a lot of water when it works.

But mine has a tendency to occasionally flick itself on and off once quickly when there's nothing in the sink. I came home one day to find it switching the faucet on and off every few seconds-- great.

And when the batteries died the first time after a few weeks, I started to wonder. Then the second set died after another few weeks, and I just had to laugh-- having water is great, but tossing a few dozen batteries to run it is going the wrong way.

I've wired mine up with a DC adapter and a switch plugged into a GFCI outlet, so it's only on when I'm at the sink. It works great, but I don't appreciate having to mod something just to make it work.

Another company needs to get in on this-- EZ-Faucets are not ready for prime time.

2Faulty Faucet  Apr 20, 2007
By Ironweed
We purchased a few of these for use in our lab here in Ann Arbor. They worked fantastic for a few weeks, but then they began to fail one by one until we lost use of all 3 of them. It is a great idea and very affordable, but their short lifespan made this purchase a waste of money. Do not buy this product until they improve the longevity. If and when they do, I will buy them.
