 Don't waste your money Jul 04, 2010
The Perma-lid is ok because it makes a basically smooth surface to clean, but the Bag-it part of the combo is a waste of money. I discovered it is just as easy to put a plastic Wal-Mart-type sack in the plastic receptacle and wrap it around and under the outside of the receptacle without using the plastic strip that comes with this combo. If I'd thought it through, I would not have gotten these products.

I was a bit frustrated by the Littermaid box. The replaceable lids that come with it were of such poor design that it was extremely difficult to get them to stay up. I more often than not ended up with the lid remaining on top of the receptacle so that the litter poured in by the automatic "rake" was on top of the lid instead of inside the receptacle. The lid is fabulous. I have not had to remove or replace it. Once screwed in, it holds and keeps the smells where they belong. When I received the Perma-lid and bag-it combo, I thought I had only received the lid which for me was fine! However, I then saw that the bag-it is merely a rectangular piece of plastic that sets on top of a receptacle that you wrap a plastic bag around. Once I figured that out, I put it in and it worked fine. It makes clean-up so much easier. Occasionally it is a little hard to get it set on top of the receptacle but once balanced, I am very please with how it works. The company was a little short with me when I asked about it so I would recommend trying to figure it out yourself before asking for help! Definitely buy this item.

I was skeptical at first but it works great. saves time and money from ever having to buy more recepticals.

I'm not as thrilled with this purchase as I hoped I would be. It fills rather quickly, the lid gets pretty yucky, and the litter still manages to get under the pan. Sometimes the frame falls inside the plastic pan also. I still appreciate the fact that I no longer have to worry about tucking the pan under those tabs or having litter fly up in my face like when I used to take the pan out. At this point the pros balance out the cons for me.

I am very happy to have discovered and to use this product! It is definitely a time saver and a much cleaner way to dispose of used litter. A few years ago I bought, through Ebay, thin plastic liners to cover the regular hard plastic receptacles. I still have a couple of rolls and they work fine, so I can continue using them with the PERMA-lid until I run out and then use plastic grocery bags. Now if only they could dispose themselves!
