Cat litter system Aug 30, 2009 Excellent set up for the littermaid system. Those plastic boxes are expensive, and with the space underneath you can store all the supplies.
Should be standard issue Apr 19, 2009 Really like this product. It makes having a littermaid box even better.
Pros: No more changing and handling the flimsy little bins that never load uniformly. Go longer periods of time between changes. Cuts down on odor. Plus you have a seperate compartment for storing supplies.
Cons: High price/cheap materials. For the price, I guess I was expecting more than lightly sanded 1/2" plywood. It's a little more rickety than I expected. If you want a finished surface it costs even more, or you need to do it yourself. I'd recommend running a bit of sandpaper through the fingerholes in the doors, as I've gotten splinters from them.
Overall I'm glad I got it. I'd recommend it to anyone with a littermaid, or the do-it-yourself kit as well, if someone wanted to turn an existing table or cabinet into one.

Litterworks makes Littermaid better Mar 12, 2009 I purchased this unit to use with a Littermaid unit that I already owned. It arrived just before we went on vacation, leaving the care of our 3 cats (~ 15 lbs each)with my mom-in-law. She is kind of frail and it would have been difficult to empty the Littermaid waste receptacles while on the floor. With this setup, she only had to top off the litter and did not have to empty anything. We were gone for a week and there was still room for more waste.
An added benefit is that, when the cats jump down, it loosens the litter in their claws and our adjoining room is mcuh cleaner. We used to sweep everyday, now it barely needs it. We do have a rug under the cabinet which helps trap the litter, but this was always there.
The extra space for storage is great, it has really organized our laundry room.
The only negative I have is placing the unit is kind of clumsy. This could just be me figuring out the best approach. It is simple enough to put on, it is the funnel that needs to be placed where the reptacles used to go. NO MORE REPLACING OR BUYING RECEPTACLES!
I added a PERMA-LID to the Littermaid. It screws on and you don't even need the receptacle covers.
If you have cats, you should definietly buy one of these cabinets. It is well worth the money. It really does make the LitterMaid Litter Box better!
Update: 3/23/09 - Finally figured out how to place it while connecting to the chute. Would rate it a 5 star product!

It works Nov 24, 2008 I have been using this product and I can go 4 days without a problem before changing the bag. I have 3 cats and used to have to checge the litter bag everyday. I could actualy go longer than 4 days but the litter gets a bit heavy since my cats are rather large with two over 22 pounds. I would recommend getting this product and if only one cat I can see where it would go at least one week before changing.

Great Helper Oct 03, 2008 My cats love this thing almost as much as I do. Cats love jumping up on furniture and mine love jumping up on this too. I love that I don't have to get down on the ground (arthritis) to change bags, clean up and add more litter. I love that I don't have to change bags every day. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the materials, but I will and have bought another. Love the storage area to hide extra supplies (litter, scoop, bags)
