Hey Littermaid. Have you actually met a cat? Nov 11, 2009 When my cat lost her ability to make the step up into the Litter Robot, I had to make a change to Littermaid. After seeing it on the market for so long, I was shocked to find so many problems with the construction - both of the box and the accessories. I can't help but think that the makers of this product haven't actually been around cats -- the operation of the unit is frighteningly loud, the step is unstable, the plastic ledge has a slippery finish no cat would feel comfortable stepping on, the litterbox does not come equipped with the privacy tent as standard, the cleaning feature does not stop when a cat re-enters the box, the privacy tent accessory pops out of its hold at the slightest bump making it awkward and impossible to get a scoop inside to dislodge stuck waste, and the fit of the waste pan and lid are pitiful. I can't believe I wasted money on this product and that makers can't do better than this. Seriously Littermaid - talk to somebody who owns a cat when you design the next model.
wish I didn't buy it Sep 28, 2009 This thing would have been 100% better if the top had a zipper to unzip it. As it is constructed, you have to take the entire box out to get to the back controls, manually scoop, or do any kind of cleaning. It made everything harder - I gave it away.

not reccomended Aug 23, 2009 I got the kabana to control litter and odor, which it did do somewhat. However, in order to add litter or scoop the smaller bits of cat stuff, you have to pull the box out. The zipper only works from one side and should be a two way. very difficult to get the box in and out of the kabana for cleaning, negating any positives about the product. The plastic frame is flimsy and easily broke on one of the attempts to get to the box to add litter. also, my cats are big and did not seem to like climbing into it.
Cheap, Falls apart, Must take apart to clean litter box Jun 23, 2009 The tent completely surrounds the litter box, including going underneath it. You have to unzip the top from the bottom every time you clean the litter box. When you do, the cheap plastic frame falls apart at the connectors. Save your money, this isn't worth it.
A big cumbersome Feb 23, 2009 This makes it very difficult for me to get to the controls inside on the litter box itself.
