We love ours, though it's not perfect. Jul 22, 2010 Many other reviewers have given details, so let us simply say that we loved ours until we replaced it with the latest model, the 120. No, it's not perfect: it can be smelly if poop is processed (latest model is better at avoiding this;) we consider the unscented SaniSolution a necessity; and the litter scatter is very annoying, but given the alternatives, we consider it a worthwhile investment that makes both human and feline members of our household very happy.
Let me start by saying wow! Jul 13, 2010
Background: I have 2 cats (1 male 1 female), and I have tried all kinds of litter, Auto scooping (could not handle the cats poop what a mess!), as for potty training well for the female cat this worked but the male cat no luck he hated sitting on the toilet, after 3 months of trying and cleaning his mess I settled on scooper able-flushable litter that was spending 40 a month on litter¡K and I hated scooping and what a stink daily cleaning and what a mess, they drink and pee a lot . (It was next to my bed room and I could smell... and wow I hated it.) Also I was afraid to have people upstairs to use the guest bathroom (it was called the cat bathroom by friends).
As for install: It was so easy! First off I hard plumbed the Genie to my sink with an additional 4 dollar part at the hardware store, and it took me a total of 30 min from start to finish doing all the assembly from un-boxing to plumbing, I did this due to the layout of the bathroom and wanted to keep the toilet for people. All the hoses are hidden in the sink cabinet and it looks like a mini kitty toilet (renamed form genie to kitty toilet by friends) in my guest bathroom now. So now it has 2 toilets (Kitty and Human) º
As for the cleaning, I run it on auto to get 240 cleaning, I was worried about how long till the cats use it, I was thinking I hope not a week¡K wow they used it the first time, no training no delay. They skipped the regular box and went to the genie.. Even the male cat, he had to make sure it was safe for his sister. A bonus is the cats think it entertainment they sit and watch it spin and clean. There is no smell, and no poop mess to clean. The granules do track, but so don¡¦t normal litter, and with the walls and the mat a normal part of the tuxedo, its not far I just shake it back in the kitty toilet. I got my guest bath room back! The Cats got Toilet and entertainment! I don¡¦t know why I waited... its Great!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! May 23, 2010 Before: 2 litter boxes (cats would not share) 1 Litter Robot and 1 traditional litter box; a lot of mess, odor, cleaning time
After: 1 Cat Genie 120 (cats share the Genie); no mess, no odor, minimal cleaning time
My cats were sharing the Litter Robot until they turned 1 yr. Suddenly they refused to share the Robot and I had to add a traditional box. The Litter Robot does what it claims but you still have to deal with the drawer of feces and each time it makes a cycle it throws litter dust ALL over the room. The litter dust creates a much bigger mess and takes a lot longer to clean that simply emptying the Robot's drawer. Then periodically, you have to empty the heavy dome of all litter, clean it out and replace it with fresh litter.
Even so, Litter Robot is better than a traditional litter box. My Robot broke after 5 yrs. I replaced it with the Genie. (good move!#
The Genie does what it claims. There is no litter to scoop or replace because there is no litter! You don't even have to clean the bowl as you do your own toilet. Cleaning time? sweep granules off the floor. The Genie 120 is an amazing feat of engineering. Kudos to those who designed it. When reading other reviews watch the date. The Genie 120 is much improved over the original Genie 60. When I first installed my Genie 120 #which was unbelievably easy) I was getting a beeping sound and stall when cleaning. Customer service sent me a new processer and a pre-paid return label. I just put my old processer in the box they sent and called Fed Ex for a pick-up-all at no cost to me. The new processer works flawlessly. My cats like watching the Genie as much as I do! AND MY CATS ARE SHARING THE GENIE because it is always sanitary! There are no lingering cat smells from the Genie at all. I took the plunge because Cat Genie offers a 90 day guarantee, which is plenty of time so see if your cat will accept the Genie. And, I'll "never touch cat litter again"! Thank you Cat Genie!!!

Expensive as hell for so many problems May 14, 2010 If you've ever wanted a cat crap scented incent then this is the machine for you. When it runs the heat mode it heats any remaining poo that hasnt been scooped out and makes the entire house smell like the inside of swamp ass. It blows grnules all over the floor constantly causing you to run out of granules alot faster. Also whatever bathroom you have this beast hooked up to becomes pretty much useless. With all the cords and tubes running through you cant even shut the door, so none of your guests will want to use it.
You have to scrub your toilet pretty much every time the device runs. I like the fact that I dont have to hand scoop it or carry the crap to the trash but theres so many problems with this thing Im overwhelmed! Every once in a while the little scoop arm gets stuck down in the granules as its spinning clockwise causing a nasty smearing. Sometimes the arm just wont lift all the way back and just drops the poop back into the bowl. Thus causing the heated poo aroma. Super enjoyable right? All and all I could say if someone offers to just give you one of these TAKE IT. But do not buy this.

DO NOT BUY. Apr 26, 2010 Product works well the 1st few months, but not made well and too many moving parts.
Also, what you don't know is the maintenance and up keep. Every three months the company recommends to take the unit apart and clean it. Should be easy, well it's not. Cleaning cat waste that has been sitting there for a long time took over 2 hours and the most disgusting thing I have ever done. Had to buy gloves and a mask. Not all waste is expelled through the machine so it collects and builds up into a vile putrid paste. I have called customer service 3 times over the coarse of a week, because the motor unit after cleaning will not engage. Total disaster and waste of money. Call customer service and see if you get a call back. 888-735-3927. DO NOT BUY, I would suspect the reviews are from customers that have not had the unit that long
